Arriving

Air Canada got us to Frankfurt on time and Lufthansa took extra effort to help us on our tight connection. I caught a great look at the Alps and Geneva on the flight into Lyon (look for the water spout on the extreme right hand side of the lake).

Our luggage arrived safely. But then our bags were identified by the drug dog.
(Not really, that's OUR dog, Skoshi.) But she did sniff out hidden bacon treats...

We found the bus in a different terminal and after 2 tries I managed to buy 4 tickets to Grenoble.
We loaded all 7 bags on the bus, traveled through some very French-looking countryside, and an hour later we had left the clouds to break into sunny Grenoble surrounded by snowcapped mountains.

We schlepped the bags to our hotel (HiPark Grenoble). We were excited to take our dog into a brasserie, which, for some reason, had no food. (Oh the mysteries...) Apologies, then across the street to a patisserie for pannini, drinks (Orangina) and amazing pastries (I had a chocolate cat, Deb a flan, and David had a pain au chocolate) that we took back to our hotel.

We all passed out by 8.

  1. Oh! That dog is cute. What kind is it. Did s/he fly in cabin with you or in the hold? How did it go? (what airline? as you know I collect info on international pet travel)

  2. She's probably an Ausralian silky terrier, and small enough to fit in the cabin.

  3. Air Canada and Lufthansa. It was a pain b/c an AIr Canada employee didn't know the rules (original fight number, no code share). So it took 4 hours on the phone.
